김다움은 현대인의 다양한 관계 ‘사이’에서 발생하는 인터페이스에 주목한다. 작가는 다양한 사이 공간에 머물면서 대화의 흔적을 수집하고 재편집함으로써 그 안에서 작동하는 관계와 소통의 이면을 비판적으로 사유한다. SNS 채팅앱에서 만난 낯선 이와의 관계, SNS 타임라인에서 사회·정치적 사건에 반응하는 개인들, 전시장 공간에 작동하는 작가와 관객의 관계 등을 관찰하고 실험해왔다. 사이 공간의 간접적인 특징에서 비롯된 경험의 왜곡, 기억의 오류 등에 관심을 갖고 있다.
